DigitalRev: Panasonic LX5 Hands-on Review
Posted by Jason Dunn in "Digital Home Articles & Resources" @ 10:00 PM
"We take a little look at the Panasonic LX5, the update to the LX3, a high-end compact that promises performance to go with its diminutive dimensions. So, what's new with the LX5? We also pay our photographer friend, Anthony Yeung, a visit and ask him what he thinks of it when compared to his S95."
This review is a bit more "soft" than your typical DigitalRev review, but it it does point out something very important: image quality is important, but so is the size. Panasonic cameras rank well in the image quality department, but they're not the most slender cameras around. I'd pay a handsome price to have my GF1 with the 20mm lens be thinner for instance...and if you're in the market for a camera that delivers good quality but can easily slip into a pocket, Canon's S95 looks like a good choice. How small does a "small" camera need to be for your needs?
