Kaleidescape Announces Industry's First Blu-ray Movie Server

"Blu-Ray Discs are great for movies, but the reality is that most of us don't enjoy having to swap out the discs when we want to watch another movie. Kaleidescape is looking to capitalize on that with the introduction of the industry's first Blu-ray movie server. The system stores exact copies of your Blu-ray Discs on its hard drive and makes it easier to enjoy your collection of movies. It offers high-resolution cover art combined with a brief synopsis of each film and other details to make exploring your collection of movies exciting. The bad news is that this $1,495 Modular Disc Vault will need to be connected to an individual player which will set you back at least $2,500. Still, if you're rich enough to have a fairly large Blu-ray Disc collection, you shouldn't have any trouble finding the money to fund this purchase."
If you're looking for an all-one bluray server then Kaleidescape have come up with the goods, albeit at a price. This device will allow you to store your blurays on it while populating the movie info from its catalog of 145,000 movies. I would love to try one to see how it compares to my existing solution as it certainly looks a much slicker and nicer process than I have to go through to add a copy of my bluray disc to my windows home server, followed by adding it to My Movies. Unfortunately it's a tiny bit outside my price bracket!
