Get Your Nook 3G While You Still Can!

"According to the original post, sales of the 3G model are to continue until all stock is exhausted. "The outfit is encouraging retail partners to not send out any bulk orders for the Nook 3G, as there simply won't be sufficient quantities to fulfill those orders," the site reports."
There doesn't seem to be any firm reason why Barnes and Noble is saying goodbye to its 3G e-reader thought there seems to be plenty of speculation. While a Nookcolor 3G could be in the works, the idea that Wi-Fi is commonplace enough that 3G really is not needed amazes me. Of course, it could also be the usage pattern of people. If the Nook truly is an e-reader, then persistent, anywhere, anytime Internet connectivity may not be worth a premium. When you have Wi-Fi, you just collect all the books you want and then remain disconnected for that wonderfuly long trip in the sunny Caribbean, far away from any cold weather, snow and iced over sidewalks.
