High Definition Resolution Not Always a Good Thing

"Britney Spears was voted the world's sexiest woman in a recent poll of male readers of FHM Magazine. However, the voters might want a recount after watching Spears' live concert tonight in High-Definition TV on Showtime. As previously reported at TVPredictions.com, the HDTV picture is so clear that viewers can see performers as they really are. (See: The List.) Despite the industry's best make-up techniques, facial imperfections and aging signs are dramatically visible.

At the tender age of 22, Spears doesn't have to worry about crow's feet yet. However, during tonight's concert in Miami, she looked like she hadn't slept in days. Her face was bumpy and puffy, making her appear five to ten years older than her years. The pop princess, who reportedly has been partying hard at night spots across the globe, simply didn't look very healthy tonight under the naked lens of high-def. Her make-up artists apparently tried to conceal the imperfections with heavy rouge on her cheeks, but it just added to the overall mess."

Who would have predicted this would be a side-effect of having so much resolution - stars looking more like mere mortals than the airbrushed goddesses we're used to seeing in magazines.
