Computex 2004 PMP Roundup

"The Register reports that there was a decent showing of Taiwanese hardware developers displaying their latest prototype portable media players (PMP) ready for re-branding and possible sale to the world market sometime next year. The big hit out of the bunch was the MobiNote DVX-POD 7010, an iPod-looking device which features a 7-inch color LCD (720x480), 20GB 1.8-inch HDD, and weighs only 600g. You may notice that the DVX-POD has no visible front panel buttons, but has cleverly hidden the media controls at the top of the device with A/V ports situated on its sides."
The article contains a nice list of upcoming personal video players. It it goos to see how the new generation of players support such a large variety of codecs, and it is seriously satisfying to see that none of them appear to be introducing any new file formats (not like we need any more). My iPaq 2215 currently serves as my PVP, but I am seriously tempted by some of these. Any recommendations? i.e. Do any of you own one?
