Pioneer DVR-A08 16X DVD recorder

"Pioneer is claiming its first internal 16X dual-format DVD burner is the fastest to date. However, with writing speeds of 16X for DVD+R/-R, 4X for DVD+R DL (single-sided double-layer), 4X for DVD+RW/-RW, 32X for CD-R and 24X for CD-RW, the DVR-A08 (148x198x42.3mm, 1.1kg) can in fact be bettered by NEC's ND3500A, which is quicker at writing to CD-R media (48X maximum). Having said that, Pioneer's DVR-A08 is visually more attractive and comes with an adjusting utility that allows you to manually select the disc rotation mode (Quite, Performance and Standard)."
Wow! 8O What a great looking unit! Of course my PC is tucked under my desk where not even my wife's cat can see it. If it was out in the open, this is the kind of drive I'd get.
