Apple Forces iPodWorld Magazine To Change Its Name

Once again Apple is hard at work protecting the cherished iPod brand name from miscreants who would use it for slanderous purposes, like creating an enthusiast magazine to help iPod users learn more about their digital audio player. The scoundrels at Mac Publishing LLC were about to do just that, with an all-new publication called iPodWorld, due to hit newsstands later this month. But just days before this act of indecency could be committed, Apple intervened - forcing Mac Publishing to choose a new name for the new magazine. Good move. With a name like iPodWorld, who knows what this could have done to tarnish the iPod's image. Why...people might actually become more interested in learning about iPods. We can't have that now, can we?

As a replacement, Mac Publishing quickly chose a new name, Playlist, for its magazine.

In a separate incident, the publishers of SteveJobsWorld have announced plans to change the name of their publication to PompousEgoManiacWorld.
