C|NET: "Film Group Turns To Secure DVD Players"
Posted by Suhit Gupta in "NEWS" @ 05:00 PM
With the SV300, only authorized persons can access the protected content and a large number of encrypted discs can be created and each player is individually addressable so that pirated versions can be tracked. This is apparently in direct response to a suggestion last year by the Motion Picture Association of America suggesting banning DVDs from being sent to Oscars voters, in an attempt to prevent piracy. Someone smell consumer product? ;-)
