New York Times Covers Image-Offloading Options

"Prolific digital photographers are subject to a pair of technology trends working at cross-purposes. Price drops have made high-capacity memory cards affordable for everyday use. But new consumer cameras that offer up to eight megapixels of resolution make rapidly escalating demands on storage memory. That may not matter when photos can be transferred easily from the camera to a computer. But travelers, wildlife photographers and others face undesirable choices. They can set their cameras to lower resolution, sacrificing overall image quality, to squeeze more pictures onto a memory card. They can invest in more cards. Or they can lug a laptop computer along."

This article covers some of the options for photographers that want to offload their digital images to a portable hard-drive based device. Frankly, none of them have really impressed me so far...
