Digital Home Thoughts: Home Automation for Windows XP MCE 2005

HomeSeer has released their Home Automation System plugin for Windows EXP MCE 2005. I seem to get catalogs all the time from companies that sell these automation systems, but I have yet to bite. Does anyone use such a system and would having it integrated into MCE be beneficial? I can see it being useful to turn on and off audio and video equipment around the house, but maybe it could be hooked up to start the hot tub and get the Barry White music going for an eventful night.
