Stream Your Media To and Fro with Nero MediaHome

It seems like everyone wants to get into the "home streaming media server" business now, Nero included. The overall UI looks great, but this is just the software piece - you'll still need to buy a UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) networked media player. In light of that, I'm having a hard time seeing where this will fit in - I wonder if they're banking on the on-the-fly transcoding? For instance, if you have a UPnP-based media player that doesn't support WMV (many don't) you can use this software to transcode it to MPEG2 or whatever your player supports. I can't help but think the quality would be nasty though... :?
