Sony Pulling Out of Making Plasma TVs?

"Sony has denied reports it is to cease selling plasma televisions to concentrate solely upon LCD (liquid crystal display) models. The Japanese electronics giant said there was no truth in the newspaper claim, but analysts said it would make sense for Sony. They point to the fact Sony does not actually make its own plasma models and is struggling to stay competitive."
This looks like a classical example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand does. ;) Frankly, I do not believe that Sony would exit the plasma screen market although they are not manufacturing the TV models themselves since there is a rising demand for flatter screens. But, with LG and Samsung pumping out larger and larger TVs, maybe it is worth quietly exiting stage left... :?
