XM Files Patent For Pre-Loaded Content For Purchase

"XM Satellite Radio has filed a new patent application for a device that will allow recording and playback of digital media content. In what has been described as a device similar to XM's XM2Go services, this new system would allow a user to preload the unit with content including songs, video, graphics, and text. This device would then allow that user to play "intelligent streams" even when a signal is not available. Plans are also in place that would permit users of the new device to purchase songs that they wish to store more permanetly."
Sigh... When will these companies learn that innovation breeds success, not patents.
