"Nikon has formally announced its latest entries in the consumer digital SLR space. The new D50 ($899) and D70s ($1199), both due out in June, will replace the D70, which was released a year ago. The D50 has the same appearance and control layout of the D70, but differs in terms of size, weight and control layout. Both offer a 6.1-Megapixel CCD and both sport a 2in. LCD, an updated menu interface, and improved battery life. The D50 will be available in black and silver bodies and as a kit with the new AF-S DX 18-55 mm lens. The D70s has the same CCD sensor and imaging pipeline as the D70, so image quality should be identical, but it offers improved auto focus accuracy, slightly wider flash coverage, and new menus."And there was word yesterday that they will be releasing new firmware for the Nikon D70. There is lots of good stuff to look forward to and this link really gives quite a bit of information.
