Sharp Goes Big With 65-Inch LCD TV

"If you are thinking about buying a Plasma TV later on in the year, you might want to consider getting an LCD model instead. That is of course if you have $15,000 dollars burning a hole in your pocket. Sharp plans on introducing a 65-inch LCD Aquos television sometime around this August available only in Japan. Earlier in the year Sharp announced they have developed an 82-inch LCD, but that it would not be available anytime in 2005. So it looks like 65-inches is all you get for now. Sharp also highlighted their new line of LCD models ranging from 22-inches up to 45-inches. These new models are equipped with a new backlighting technology that is supposed to enhance color output."

The fact that I don't have $15,000 burning a hole in my pocket does not stop me from wanting one (or two) of these. I, like many, are probably willing to save $12,000 and give up a little floor space for a traditional big screen. But it is great to see now what will be more affordable in years to come.
