"The Creative patent, awarded Aug. 9, applies to the process of navigating through a portable music device using a series of menus. The company said it filed for the patent and released its first product with the technology before the unveiling of the iPod four years ago. "We're second to them in market size, but now I think it is clear that our user interface has the largest market share in the world," said Craig McHugh, president of Creative Labs, the company's business arm. He declined to say whether Creative has talked to Apple about licensing the patent. Apple spokesman Steve Dowling declined to comment." Ah, so "their interface" has the largest marketshare in the world. Time to warm up those lawyers because it looks like they plan to beat Apple in the courts rather than in the marketplace.
