RealNetworks Promotes Wireless Streaming
Posted by Suhit Gupta in "NEWS" @ 05:00 AM
So this is a far cry from the Real Server software they had first released over 6 years ago. It was so super proprietary at the time and need Real Networks technologies at both ends (server and client) in order to be able to do any streaming. Of course now they not only have this Helix system but also allow downloaded music from their own store play on a variety of portable devices, even if they're not running RealPlayer. And finally, now that their Real Player is not classified as malware/spyware/etc. anymore, I would tend to lean towards more of Real's technologies than others.
