Sony NW-A1000, 1200, 3000 Gets WMA Support

Sony has done an about face and is now extending support for Microsoft's competing digital audio file format (WMA) in a recent ROM update for the NW-A1000/1200/3000 audio player. However, that doesn't mean the player now supports tracks downloaded from online music stores like MSN and Napster as well. So buyer beware on both counts.
Perhaps Sony is slowly (so very slowly) conceding that consumers do not want ATRAC audio? Well, maybe not. But I can dream, can't I? :wink:
