Apple Announces iLife '06
Posted by Kent Pribbernow in "SOFTWARE" @ 02:00 PM
A new app joins the iLife suite; iWeb. This software is a major addition that ties the iLife suite into Apple's online consumer services called .Mac, enabling users to create blogs, publish photos, calendars, share audio, and everything in between. iPhoto also gets a major tuneup with new photo editing capabilities and improved book publishing. New tools (which integrate with iWeb and .Mac) allow Mac users to publish and share photo libraries on password protected online galleries. Cool stuff.
But the biggest change comes in GarageBand which has now morphed into a full end-to-end Podcasting studio. With GarageBand you can record, edit, and publish your own podcasts. Apple has even included a number of royalty-free sound effects and jingles to create professional quality productions. Very clever.
iLife '06 is available through the Apple online store for $79. *Note of warning. For some reason the iLife website crashes my browser. Be forewarned*
