Sony Grabs #1 Spot for Sales of LCD TVs

"Sony Corp. grabbed the largest share of global shipments of liquid crystal display televisions, at 14.6 percent, for the first time during the October-December quarter, a U.S. market research firm for the flat panel display industry said Friday. Sharp Corp., another Japanese electronics firm, had been in the top spot in the category since the April-June quarter in 2001, when the research firm started the survey, according to DisplaySearch."
The BRAVIA line of LCD TVs is apparently what pushed Sony over the top. Since buying my Samsung DLP TV a little over a year ago, I've stopped caring about big-screen TVs, though I have this feeling there may be a 65" SED TV in my future if the technology comes through as well as I think it will (and the prices are right).
