Two More Blu-ray Titles Announced - But Who Cares?

"As the Blu-ray format officially launches next week with the arrival of Sony's first wave of disc titles, the studio has announced two more releases due August. Making their Blu-ray debuts on August 15 are the deep sea thriller 'Into the Blue,' and Paul Verhoeven's cult classic 'RoboCop.' Both will include 1080p encoded transfers and PCM 5.1 surround uncompressed soundtracks (traditional Dolby Digital 5.1 options are also provided for both releases). 'Into the Blue' will also contain all of the same features as the standard DVD release, including a filmmaker commentary and a featurette, though extras have not yet been announced for 'RoboCop.' Neither title will include any exclusive HD content."
I'd like to issue an open request to every movie studio with plans to release movies in High Definition: stop re-releasing crappy movies! No one cares if they can get 'Into the Blue' or 'RoboCop' in HD! Give us Star Wars, Star Trek, James Bond, Mission Impossible, Casablanca, Lord of the Rings, IMAX...movies we actually want to watch more than once. The last thing I want to do is drop $30 on an HD movie disc, then feel like I wasted two hours of my life in front of the idiot box. :roll:
