Digital Home Thoughts: Get a Free Napster Digital Audio Player with One-Year Napster To Go Subscription

Here's an interesting move by Napster - they had a co-branded player with Samsung that didn't seem to last long, but this is a wholly-branded Napster player. I think this is a smart move for Napster, it focuses the customer on getting access to as much music as they want, along with free hardware, for a monthly fee. The capacity seems a tad small though - I would have expected a 512 MB player for this amount, though it's important to note that the Napster To Go fee isn't any more expensive with this offering. They also have a slick-looking 1 GB player for $50 more, while still being based on the $14.95 a month plan. I won't be touching this with a ten foot pole though - I still have vivid memories of all the cursing and swearing I did at the Napster client when it would make me re-authenticate five times a day.
