Casio EX-Z1000

"I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this new 10MP point-and-shoot digicam. I really didn’t like the Casio EX-S500 but this digicam is definitely a shooter of a different color. The EX-Z1000 has a nice feel, superb onscreen menus, is simple to use and it takes good—not great—photos. I recommend it, especially if you can get it for around $350."
Wow, 10 megapixels is cool, but I'd really like to see more optical zoom on this camera instead since at this point more megapixels is not going to help most photographers do anything other than fill up their memory card quicker. I guess you COULD use the extra resolution to do your zooming in post production. What do you think? Are 10 megapixels just overkill?
