PCMagazine Reviews 20" Acer Aspire Laptop

"There was a time when 17-inch widescreen laptops were considered downright huge, but thanks to lower LCD costs and Dell's launch of its 20-inch widescreen notebook, the XPS M2010, monstrous laptops are starting to take over my test area. The Acer Aspire 9805WKHi, with a 20-inch widescreen, weighs a shoulder-straining 17.1-pounds, so it isn't for everyone. Thanks to a huge 20-inch screen and an integrated HD DVD drive, the Aspire is a home theater first and a desktop-replacement PC second. Brilliant 20.1-inch display. Rich cinematic experience. HD DVD-ROM with better software. Speedy processor and lots of RAM. PowerDVD software still needs fine-tuning. Graphics card below expectations. Weight can be a problem. Unreliable remote."
Hmm, weren't the first few laptops in that weight range? 8O Almost seems like the biggest competitor to this kind of device would be the iMac in terms of the all in one, desktop solution. While the iMac is not explicitly sold as a portable solution, it really is. Anyways, this laptop does come with some of the best features in a laptop - Intel Core Duo T2600 2.16 GHz, 2048 MB RAM, nVidia GeForce Go 7600 and a 240 GB hard drive. This will set you back almost $3K.
