Sigma Announces Foveon-Equipped SD14 DSLR
Posted by Suhit Gupta in "NEWS" @ 12:00 PM
Sigma announced the SD14 camera which uses the much talked about Foveon X3 sensor. While the sensors in most cameras have the red, green, and blue pixel sensors side-by-side, the X3 sensor has each of the primary colors in its own layer. This allows for greater resolution and more accurate color than a traditional CCD or CMOS sensor. I am curious to know how much this camera will cost since Sigma lenses are typically the ones that are on the lower end. I wonder if the camera body itself will be on the lower end of most cameras in the same range of functionality.
