Compare TV Set Size

"Widescreen is here to stay! If you're getting ready to buy a new television, one of the most important considerations you need to make is whether to buy a 16:9 HDTV ready television, or a more conventional 4:3 television set. The shape of 16:9 televisions help make watching DVDs and HDTV content even more enjoyable, but you will make certain compromises when watching 4:3 programming. Use this calculator before you buy your next set and make an informed decision!"

Here's an interesting little app. Just punch in the monitor sizes (widescreen or standard) click the Compare Sizes button and all the specs are listed in a table. Very cool, though aside from building cardboard mockups I'm not sure what good all these numbers are. When it comes to comparing TV sizes, I suggest trekking down to your local B&M and viewing them yourself. A 30-inch widescreen TV might not look great on paper, but your eye might say otherwise.
