Shuttle Unveils SD39P2 with Intel Quad Core CPU Support

I'm a self-confessed Shuttle-holic, slurping up their small form factor machines goodness. This new SD39P2 blows the doors off the SFF barn. The specs for this thing look crazy - Intel 975X + ICH7 chipset, one PCI Express slot, one PCI slot, four slots for up to 8 GB of DDR2 533/667/800 RAM, an eSATA port, gigabit Ethernet, and a 400 watt power supply which should be enough to power a decent graphics card. About the only down-side to the unit that I can see is that it uses the Realtek ALC888 for audio, and Maximum PC busted them for cheating on positional audio. Given the premium price this XPC unit is likely going to cost, it would have been nice to see an on-board X-Fi from Creative Labs. Still, this machine looks like the Shaft of SFF computing: one bad mutha.
