camcorderinfo.com Reviews the Canon HG10

This is a massively comprehensive review of the Canon HV10 puts my review of the HV20 to shame, but hey, this is what these guys do (although I'll point out they wussed out and didn't provide any HD sample footage - come on guys, bandwidth is cheap!). In their super-detailed review they cover all aspects of the HG10 - it's similar to the HV20 I looked at, but they really pound the HG10 for the poor 24p quality and the overall quality issues with AVCHD in general. The fact that the 40 GB hard drive can hold 5.5+ hours of video footage (even if the battery only lasts 1 hour 48 minutes) is a big plus, but for now I still prefer a tape-based camera.
