Going Green with Tech

"Green gadgets for the home range from the must-have to the nice-to-know, and as I continue to look for affordable replacement options for my power-sucking traditional appliances, it should become easier to find just the right solution. While it’s always debatable as to whether replacing your existing gear with new stuff is a green decision concept, I would argue that as your older appliances and gadgets wear out, it’s always smart to look for the most advanced and efficient gadgets to take their place. What follows are the products that made the most difference in our lives during a month of testing."
I've put a lot of work into going green over the last few years and I've got to say, some of the items in this article are pretty weak. I mean come on, calling a heated, USB powered mouse green because it will keep your hand warm without pushing up the heat is really pushing it. I've reviewed Smart Power Strips and Bye Bye Standby here on this site and continue to use them to this day. We use compact fluorescent light fixtures and have started to switch out to LED bulbs. Almost all our laundry is air dried. We compost and recycle to the extent that we only need to have our trash picked up about once a month. We've even got rain barrels. So please, share some of your eco-tips here, whether they are tech based or not.
