Dane Creek Folio Covers: Wrap Your Prints in Style
Posted by Jason Dunn in "Digital Home Hardware & Accessories" @ 10:23 AM
"Dane Creek folio covers provide an elegant and inexpensive way to package your favourite images. Whether you're building a fine art portfolio or making gifts for friends and family, the covers are an excellent alternative to books or framed prints. Our covers are designed to hold 10 sheets of high-quality 8.5x11" photo paper such as Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Silk and Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta 325. Each folio cover is cut from 100 lb. acid- and lignin-free paper manufactured with 30% recycled post-consumer fiber. The paper is also Green Seal and Forest Stewardship Council certified."
My friend Neil Enns, who has written more than one article for this very site, has launched a new business and his first product is a great-looking folio cover. The price is quite reasonable ($3.25 USD) and it's a great way to give someone prints of your images without the expense of framing them first. Framing is also a personal choice thing for many people, so it's not always a good idea to decide for someone else what kind of frame will look good on their walls. Right now they're only offering 8.5x11" folios, but are looking to expand into 8x10" and 11x14" - and also offer more colours.
And hey, they ship to Canada, which is great because my brain is still boiling with rage after spending 20 minutes creating something really great on Scrapblog only to find I can't get it shipped here.
