Sketchpad Threatens MS Paint Dominance

"Run by a team that dubs themselves Colorjack, this "Sketchpad" demo shows off the capabilities of modern JavaScript and HTML5 support. You can paint any color in any shade or opacity, take on patterns and "Spirographs," and use all the tools you're likely familiar with from Microsoft's older versions of that old Paint standby."
For those of you who think that HTML5 is so fantastic that everyone should immediately drop everything else to adopt it, Sketchpad may be a great link you can show people what HTML5 is capable of, outside of video delivery. Sketchpad is definitely not on par with Photoshop, or GIMP, but as a proof of concept, it is quite compelling, and it actually seems to offer very similar features (short of loading an image) to online photo editors. Of course, there is the inevitable comparison to Flash. I still maintain that Flash is the here and now. HTML5 is great and likely will be the future, but it is like saying that fusion power is the way of the future, and gasoline sucks. Until there is an HTML5 version of Desktop Tower Defense, you cannot change my mind!
